About Heartwood Furniture Co.

Heartwood Furniture Co. is owned and operated by Brian Breckley, a U.S. Navy Veteran, craftsman, Physician Associate, and lover of old tools.

Brian has a long history of designing, building, and rehabilitating beautiful things. As a kid he spent countless hours in his grandfather’s workshop—around intricate stained glass and wood projects —enamored with the tools, smells, and endless possibilities. Brian’s grandfather guided his journey toward becoming a maker, gently stretching and challenging Brian’s abilities with each metal, glass, and wood project.

Each piece of bespoke furniture is built for practical utility with a flourish of art. Brian pays close attention to wood grain and movement, and lets the wood speak for itself. As a whole, we value sustainability, and try to use eco-friendly timber in our products. We rely on local resources such as Oregon white oak, Oregon ash, maple, and Oregon black walnut. We also build furniture using Douglas fir, knotty pine, and western red cedar on request and in particular applications.

We try to add a personal touch to our service in the community. I love creating, building, and working with wood. I am grateful to be able to do work in a way that sustains my family, gives me purpose, and allows me to share my gifts with others.
